VMDO Presents at 7th Grade Charlottesville Career Fair

This week, architects from VMDO had the pleasure of presenting their design work and more information about the architectural profession to about 2,000 7th grade students from Charlottesville and surrounding counties, as part of Piedmont Virginia Community College’s annual 7th Grade Career Expo. The students asked great questions about our architects’ educational backgrounds, how different professions work within the field of architecture, and what architectural design work looks like on a day to day basis.

Below are “city” designs that students built over the course of two days using SketchUp technology. About 50 students took time to build something interesting, using the technology that architects often work in when crafting their own designs (see below). They did an awesome job! We look forward to going back next year!
